Important dates in Klippo's 50-year history:

1954 Karl Dahlman launches “Klippman”, the first motor-powered rotary lawnmower in Europe.

1955 The first lawnmowers with grass discharge.

1959 The first G6 is manufactured.

1963 Karl Dahlman designs “the flying lawnmower”, Flymo, which arouses great interest when it is presented at the internal exposition in Brussels. The patent is later sold to Electrolux.

1967 Operations are moved from Kulladal to Knivgatan in Malmö.

1971 The first safety blade is manufactured.

1980 The G8 is launched.

1984 The launch of Klippo’s flagship, the self-propelling lawnmower with two speeds and 53 cm cutting width. In the same year Karl Dahlman sells the company to Thomée-Hörle.

1989 Klippo launches a new collector – Klippo Compact.

1993 The birth of Klippo Comet.

1994 Klippo is the first to have catalytic convertors as standard features.

1995 The launch of the technical miracle Klippo Electra Battery.

1997 The birth of a new generation of collectors: Klippo Brilliant.

2001 Klippo Cobra – the perfect collector which can be converted with a simple hand movement into a mulcher.

2004 Klippo’s 50th anniversary and the launch of a new mulcher model with a 48 cm cutting width – Klippo Next.

2005 Klippo reaches one million manufactured lawnmowers in Malmö, Sweden, and is appointed Royal Warrant Holder by His Majesty the King of Sweden.

2007 Husqvarna AB aquires Klippo AB from Thomée Industries. Klippo launches the new Klippo Comet, a classic model with new deck, new engine and new transmission.

2008 Klippo moves to Höör and merges with Höörs Plåt. The company's new name is Husqvarna Manufacturing Sweden AB.
