Irrigation
If the grass is healthy and green, it normally should not need much watering. If there is no rain at all for a long period, the grass should be given a good soaking about twice a week. Watering a little often is disastrous for the grass, since the roots come close to the surface. To avoid unnecessary evaporation the lawn should be watered in the evening or at night. By raising the cutting height and always ensuring that the blades are sharp you can reduce the risk of the grass drying out. Signs of drying out are that the grass takes on a greyish-green colour and then turns yellow.
